I’ve received a state pension quote, saying I’ll receive my state pension in a few months time of £220.10 a week, £957.04 a month or £11,484.50 a year I can’t get these numbers to add up. I thought times £220.10 a week by 52 weeks in a year and you get the yearly amount, but this comes up with £11,445.20 a year, or £953.76 a month Am I working this out wrong or is there a different calculation I’m supposed to be using to turn the weekly amount into the monthly and yearly amount?

Hi Nickh, In 2024 there are 53 Mondays, 53 Tuesdays and 53 Wednesdays You have to bring the weekly down to daily to compute properly To get the daily amount Divide the £220.10 by 7 days in the week to get annual amount multiply daily amount by 365.25 days in year (the 0.25 is for leap years) to get monthly amount divide annual amount by 12 Hope this helps
