Is Work in South Africa Class 2?

Is 'socially insured work abroad' in South Africa regarded as sufficient to be granted Class 2?

Voluntary class 2 National Insurance contributions may be paid provided that the individual was normally employed or self-employed in the United Kingdom and
employed or self-employed overseas.  
If you submit your CF83 application form to apply to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions whilst overseas then our International Team will be able to assess
your entitlement to pay the voluntary class 2 contributions.
