I let the Royal Navy about 10 years ago and moved to Thailand my only income is my armed forces pension. I have tried a few times throughout the years to ask about paying voluntary NI i think i have currently paid 2 years but on both the online query and using the automated call i run into problems because i have been unable to obtain a government gateway pin. About 3 months ago i also sent a postal query but as yet i havnt seen a reply the post can be quick at time i have also seen it take 10 weeks on several occasions so i might get something yet. i also have had problems with some uk webpages from here Thanks

How can i find out about paying missing years when i am unable to obtain a goverment gateway pin from my location ther does seem to be a local restriction on some webpages to especially those requiring input. By my working i should have paid 27 years beore moving to Thailand i seem to hit a dead end on the phone or web and my letter was unanswered

Hi
From the details that you have provided, you would benefit from receiving a State Pension Forecast which will detail your current and future entitlement to the UK State Pension.
It will also advise if any shortfalls of National Insurance contributions are available to improve your entitlement if needed.
You may obtain a State Pension Forecast from:  Check your State Pension forecast
If you can not apply for a Forecast online by the above weblink then you may download form BR19, complete it and post it to The Pension Service.
You may obtain a BR19 from:  Application for a State Pension forecast
Thank you.
