Hi, I have lived in the UK for over 12 years now. When I moved here from Hungary and signed up for national insurance, I was supposed to send a form to the Hungarian authorities to say I am paying national insurance here, which I neglected. Because of this omission I am now having problems with the Hungarian authorities who want proof of my UK entitlement to healthcare starting from 2011, or at lease covering the past 5 years. I have submitted to them a letter authorizing them to contact the UK authorities and request the information, but they now want me to provide the information myself. Ideally, they would want an S041 form. In my understanding, it is only the Hungarian authorities who can request this form, not me. Is this information correct? Thank you in advance.

Hi

Thank you for your enquiry. You are correct, the Hungarian authorities can only request the S041 from HMRC, you cannot request this certificate. The alternative would be for you to request a CA9110. You can request this by writing to HMRC at the following address:

National Insurance Contributions & Employer Office
International Caseworker EU
PT Operations North East England
HM Revenue and Customs
BX9 1AN

Please provide your name, address, National Insurance number and periods of residence in the UK.

Thanks

Hi there, I have the same problem. I forgot to report in Hungary that I moved to ths UK and because of that i would need to pay my health care in Hungary, however i can avoid thst by providing proof of my National Insurance contributuons of the UK, they sent me a letter in Hungary saying I can use one of these documents/forms but i cant find any of them online and dont k ow how could i request any legitemate certification issued by the government thst could replace these ones. What should i do? Should I also contact the same adress asming for the same form? Will the hungarian authorities accept that? I recived these forms mentioned in the letter: E104, S041, S1/E 106 S1/E 121 Or a document issued by the government that is showing the start date in 2020 when i started to work and started to pay National Insurance in the UK with Hungarian translation. Many thanks for all answers.

Hi,
You will need to ask the Hungarian authorities to request a S041 certificate from HMRC.
If you have already contacted them and they have refused to request this certificate, you can request a CA9110 from HMRC.
You can request this by completing form CA3916 -  Get a PDU1 certificate or a National Insurance contributions statement
Please ensure that you attach a covering letter with the application advising that you are requesting form CA9110, not a U1 or Statement.
Thank you.

Hi, I moved back to Hungary 2 months ago. I already reported it to the hungarian authorities and waiting for the S041 form. But I have type 1 diabetes and I will run out from insulins soon. I can't get any of them until HMRC didn't send this form to Hungary. How can I get this form quicker? There is any contact address, email address or phone number who can help me? Many thanks.

Hello HMRC Admin 20. Is a human on "Ask HMRC online", or only machine? Can I speak to a human?

Hi Antanas1963,
Yes, you will be put through to a real person on Ask HMRC Online.
The automated system will first ask you for your query, then it will put you through to a trained Webchat advisor.
Alternatively, you can call a HMRC helpline and speak to an advisor over the phone.
Thank you.
