Good afternoon, I have a query regarding New State Pension NI qualifying years to get full pension. Could someone please confirm/clarify the amount of fully paid up years of NI contributions you need to have to gain a full New State Pension? There seems to be some confusion on the amount of years needed. General information seems to indicate 35 years? Would this be correct in my case based on my information? Or not? Thank you in advance. Mr Bales

Hi brianbales,
To check your current and future entitlement to a State Pension, you may wish to obtain a State Pension Forecast via Check your State Pension forecast
or via your Personal tax account: sign in or set up
The number of qualifying tax years to achieve a full State Pension differs for everyone depending on their work history.
Thank you.

I have 43 qualifying years of which 7 were contracted out which leaves 36 years. This is enough for full new pension but I have never received it when I first drew it in 2016 and still don't Can anyone explain why? It seems grossly unfair to have paid for it and not got it.

From: Ebrahim Sent: 10 October 2024 13:31:32 Subject: State pension Gaps and number of years Dear Sir/Madam, Individual started working and paying state pension from year 2011. Individual is born at 7th Sept 1969. Individual is planning to retire at the age of 67 (7th Sept 2036). Individual is offered to fill the gap for 7 years(2006-2007-2008-2009-2010-2011-2012-2013) Individual will fill the gap as suggested. Individual will have 32 qualifying years at the age of 67. Does the individual get full state pension on retirement? I hear that if collection of qualifying yeas is before 2016 then to get the full state pension (now is £221.20) 30 years of qualifying yeas and not 35. Will you please be able to clarify that for me please. Kind Regards Ebrahim Sent from my iPhone
