I am Greek and I live and work in UK since 1999. I have to inform the Greek tax office that I live abroad and I am being asked for a letter that confirms my record of national insurance contributions since I moved into UK. How can I obtain that, please?

Dear George, it doesn't seem that you've received a reply so I'm writing to say how I did this. I requested a pension forecast which shows the years you have paid NI conts and how much. You need a Government Gateway log in to access the request, should be easy to obtain, via HMRC. Please note I am not an adviser, I just have personal experience of obtaining my NI contributions record Good luck

Hi Sue. Thank you for your reply. It seems that this option is not there anymore. Also, the Greek tax office is asking for an official letter from HMRC and they insist that it exists and other people brought such letters to them. I can't seem to be able to find any information on how to get one though.

Hi George Frag

Thank you for your enquiry. You can obtain a statement of your National Insurance contribution records via your Personal Tax Account online. Or by contacting the National Insurance contributions helpline on 0300 200 3500.

Hi Emily currie,
If you have access to your Personal tax account: sign in or set up then you can print off a National Insurance Contributions Letter yourself.
If you don’t have access to your PTA then you may wish to call our National Insurance Helpline on 0300 200 3500 and they will arrange for a Letter to be issued to you.
Thank you.
