2 clients who applied to pay Class 2 NICs via CF83 have not yet had any answer. However, they both separately just received a letter stating they could pay Class 2 for 2023-2024. 1 - Why would they each have got this letter recently if they had not yet got confirmation that they could pay Class 2 for past years? 2 - Is HMRC sending such letters - just for last year - as standard before sending a reply to the CF83 application given it's a new tax year? 3 - Should they wait for an answer to their CF83 application before doing anything / Is one coming? Thanks

Hi Johnny King,
Your clients should have received letters about their CF83 application forms so you may wish to call the National Insurance Helpline (providing that you have authority) on 0300 200 3500 and they will arrange for copies to be issued.
Thank you.
