Hello, I finally submitted a CF83 form on line and received a confirmation reference number. I posted my original request 11 months ago and have had no reply. My account tells me to expect a response to my online submission by Feb 9th 2025. My question is, how will I be able to get my eligible 12 missing years paid up before the deadline? Bit concerned if they require more information etc. Thank you.

Hi,
We can advise that you will not be penalised in any way because of our delays.
If we reply close to the 5 April 2025 deadline for the payment of any shortfalls of voluntary National Insurance contributions, then you will be given extra time to arrange any payment that you wish to make.
Thank you.

1 - Is it correct that if a valid CF83 application has been received by HMRC before 5 April 2025, that you will grant an 8 week grace period from the date of your response? 2 - If there is a pending appeal to the ICW team regarding Class 3 status on the INSL33a letter, will an 8 week grace period also be given from when HMRC respond to that appeal? Thanks

Hi,
You will be given extra time to pay any voluntary National Insurance contributions that you may wish to make at the rates in force when we received
your CF83 application form if we replied close to or after the April 2025 deadline.
If you had any queries about any shortfalls of voluntary contributions then you will be given extra time again from our next letter provided that you replied to the initial letter within the extra time given.
Thank you.
