We have an employee who says she has reached state retirement age. We asked for proof of ID and she provided a birth certificate in her maiden name (not the one we have on her record). We therefore asked for her marriage certificate but she said that she has been divorced for over 20 years now and no longer has it. How can we confirm her age so that we can move her to C national insurance?

Hi,
You could ask for a passport or driver's license.
Please see the following:- What to do when an employee reaches State Pension age
Thank you.

Sorry, I should have said in my original post - she does not have either of these documents.
