WE submitted an FPSA to correct an employee's tax on 19th May 2024 and a few days later the relevant credit was showing on our business tax account. However, the employee has reported that this is still not reflected on their personal tax account; this is not a small amount and is impacting on the employee's tax code for the current tax year. We do not want to submit the FPSA again, as this will incorrectly duplicate the credit; I am also aware that HMRC will not discuss individual's tax affairs with employees. Can you please advise how long it should take for FPSA to applied to an employee's record, and if there is anything we can do to speed this up? Thank you

Hi,
An FPS amendment should update within 72 hours, however as this is to do with the employees personal record and you are confident you have done everything required as employer, we would recommend the individual contacts personal tax re this. Its important that they state that the employer has sent the amendment to HMRC and it has updated on the system and that this is an issue with their individual record.
Thank you.

Thank you for the quick reply - the employee has contacted HMRC via the employer helpline and they have stated that they have not received anything. What advice can we give the employee as to next steps please?

Hi,

If you have sent through figures that do not match our system the employers helpline may be able to raise either a mapping issue which is when 2 or more of our internal systems do not match, or a disputed charge which is when you are disputing the information we hold. This can take some time so the best advice would be for the individual to contact our Income Tax team to advise them the information held is incorrect.

Thank you.
