Hi. Just submitted my tax return and I am due a refund however I was not asked to provide my bank details which I have done in the past. Has the process changed?

Hi
If your return has been submitted, if you login after 48 hours you will be asked to go through additional security when requesting the repayment.

Iv requested a refund on the 1st of September…. How long to go into my bank account ?

Hi,
 
It can take up to 10 working days from the date of issue.

Repayments can be stopped for additional security checks and if we require any further information you will receive a letter.

I submitted a tax return several days ago and am due a refund. I was also not asked for my bank details as I have been in the past. As per the instructions given to the earlier poster, I have waited several days and logged back in. However, I have not been asked for my bank details nor additional security information in order to make the refund and I cannot see how to request it either.

If you are unable to request the repayment through SA online, please contact our helpline who will be able to go through the process with you.

Hi I'm due an overpayment tax refund, I've been in touch with the inland revenue and they say my refund has been paid into my account, this was the 1st of Feb. I've checked my account and it's still not there. Any idea when I can expect this payment?

Hi Ralph Shenton,

If the bank details the repayment was sent with are correct, you will need to speak with your bank. If the bank details are not correct, contact our Self Assessment team again and they will need to refer this on for review.

If the refund is showing as 'issued' and you dont have it after 10 working days, you will need to contact the department that issued the repayment.

Hi. I'v been asked for my bank details to get some money back but now after 5 days it says that it will come by cheque. So why did they ask for bankdetails at first if it will be sent by cheque??

Hey @Chris - any update on your situation? Did you get the £££ into your bank account ? Did they send a cheque instead? I'm in a similar situation though their website it's a bit ambiguous. I was asked by bank details, I am told I was paid the refund but it's not very clear whether it's a bank transfer or not. Cheers!

Hello, I have a tax refund for overpayment and have since departed the UK. A check has been mailed, but can the funds be deposited into a GBP bank account instead? Thank you.

Hi, I checked the status of my tax refund today and it said I was paid today, but no money has entered my bank account. The bank details I gave were accurate but still no payment entered. Is there a reason for this?

Hi Otto Schug,

If you are unable to cash the cheque you will need to nominate someone to receive the repayment on your behalf.
If this is not possible you may need to check with the bank if you can send them the cheque.

I had a notification I was due a tax refund so logged in and claimed it with my bank details. I've checked this morning and it says that the refund was issued yesterday but no money has gone into my bank account. i entered the correct bank details but nothing is showing in my bank?
