Hi team, I am trying to confirm my identity, but I don't have a last name on my passport or residence permit. Without my last name, the page is not allowing me to confirm my identity. I have also tried to enter my first name in my last name, as suggested in one of the HMRC forum's posts but the page throws an error: "The information you gave does not match our records." I have tried raising this issue in the support but unfortunately, the reply doesn't provide any solution. Please find their response "If you only hold one name or your name appears all on one line on your identity documents such as passport, you will not be able to proceed and create an online account. " Please give a solution for the above problem.

Hi

Unfortunately, if you do only hold one name, then you may not be able to register for an online account.
We should be able to advise you on alternative ways to do what you were looking to do with your online account, though - just contact us by webchat or phone, via
Income Tax: general enquiries

Thank you

Hi, my name is Sandeep. I do not have a surname and I am unable to open my HMRC online account. When I try to open the account, a message pops up saying that my details do not match.

I have changed my last name via marriage and now have no valid ID in my maiden name to verify my ID. Technical support just send me in circles. How do I update my name with you? I can show you my old passport, my current passport, my birth certificate, my marriage certificate, National Insurance number, blood type - I'm even happy to do a DNA swab and donate a kidney if I can just get an answer to this.

Hi Concern, I have an issue with my first name and last name My full name is Vishal Kumar In my passport my whole name is written in given name section ans surname section is blank. When i moved to UK my full name (Vishal Kumar) is mentioned in surname section and first name section is blank. Because of this my driving license has no first name and while trying to verify my details it says details mis-matched. I tried to login into HMRC but unable to verify my identity and i contact with customer service but didn’t get any solution. How can i fix it. Please help.
