I have submitted my 2024 return and am in the process of preparing an amendment. There are two new figures which work fine. I also amend the figure for income tax losses. This provokes a red warning - check this figure etc. I click save and continue. However, the new figure does not feature in the calculation. So, in effect, I cannot change the first number submitted.

Hi

If the losses are not being used there will be no change to the calculation.

Thank you

Many thanks for this. When I entered an entry for tax losses I did not intend it to be hidden and not used. How can I make the system use my entry please?

Hi
It sounds like you have completed the wrong box as the income tax losses should be empty. The losses need to be shown in relation to the type of income they refer to - self employment or capital gains.

Many, many thanks. Stupid of me, my first submission had the figures entered in the capital gains section, but in the amendment I got it in to my head to create an income tax losses section. Now that you've alerted me to my mistake, my amendment is working fine.
