RE: First time - help!
Hi
In our endeavour to remain impartial at all times, I regret that we cannot recommend any platforms for you to use.
If you bought the Ipad for your business, then yes, you can claim the full amount provided it is only used for business use.
If you use the Ipad for private use as well as business use, then the private use element is not allowable.
Have a look at the links below regarding capital allowances and revenue expenses:

HMRC email updates, videos, webinars and community forums
You may also want to view the videos and perhaps register for some webinars, where my colleagues will give a live training session on expenses and capital allowances.
Thank you

Hi
You will need to contact the second ISA provider and explain the situation. They will close the second ISA and repay to you anything your put in it.

RE: Income paid in crypto - calculating GBP value
Hi robert lea
Under the terms of Self Assessment, we do not provide an official exchange rate and the onus is on the individual to use a just and reasonable exchange rate for each acquisition and disposal or crypto currency conversion.
For this reason, we can only point you in the directions of potential exchange rates you can use.

RE: Can Off-plan overseas property loss be set against capital gains?
Hi Old Geezer
Unfortunately we cannot confirm if the ruling of Lloyd Webber v HMRC would apply in this case as this is determined based on the facts of the case and cannot be discussed on this forum.
You should contact us directly if they wish to discuss this further.
However, they may wish to review CG40 re capital sums derived from assets CG12940 - Capital sums derived from assets: s22 TCGA92

RE: One-off pension contribution paid from bank in Self Assessment
Hi Simon,
Yes, you answer that question and if no tax relief has already been applied, one of the new boxes that then open up has that option and you will put the amount in there.
