Yes having a full time job will affect any potential tax due as your personal allowances will be against the job in the fitst instance.

There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends.

As the stocks and shares ISA is a flexble ISA, you can deposit your £12.5k and not affect your £20k limit, this would allow you to put a further £7.5k into the ISA, to take it to its maximum.
