Applying for an A1/S1 new process
Good morning, With the new application process for an A1 being partnered with an S1, how would those currently without health care coverage apply for it (if they received and A1/applied for an A1 just before the change for example). Would they need to reapply for an A1/S1? Additionally, these is no option to put two addresses on the new A1 application form, in the past the S1 form required a foreign address, and the A1 required a UK address from what I understood. What information is needed to receive both documents at once? -
Applying for an S1 with the new A1 process
Now there is a new process for the A1 application that includes possible entitlement to an S1, should a UK residual address be entered or their foreign residential address (as this is what used to be used for eligibility of an S1), as there is not an option for both? Additionally, those who have been posted to a country just before the system changed can no longer apply for an S1 separate, what is the best way to ensure they receive an S1? Is it reapply for a new A1 and partnered S1, or is there a better way? -
Applying for an S1 with the new A1 process
Good afternoon, We have ran into situations in which we have received an A1 certificate before the changes to the new application process. With the only option to apply for an S1 independently being for dependants, what is the best way to receive S1 coverage for these individuals? Is it to reapply through the new process for a new A1/S1 together? Could I also confirm the process for having an A1/S1 sent together, as currently there is no option on an A1 application to declare both your UK and foreign address. Many thanks. -
A1 certificate after reaching state pension age
I have an employee currently posted to Germany who is of state pension age. He has a valid current A1 certificate which dates into the tail end of the year, and we are in the process of acquiring an extension. During this time, the employee in question has reached out to the NHS services in order to renew/obtain his S1 which will keep him covered for the remainder of his time there. The agent he spoke to informed him that he now no longer needed an A1, which raised some eyebrows as I cannot find any guidance confirming that an A1 is no longer needed once state pension age is reached. Can I have some confirmation on this in case it crops up again; do British citizens posted in a foreign country (Germany) require an A1 certificate after reaching state pension age? My initial thought would be yes, as the certificate confirms social security legislation applies to them, but the NHS agent offering contrary information has confused things. Many thanks.
