Hi,
There are a number of situations in which you may need to register for Self Assessment. Without knowing your individual circumstances we can not comment on whether or not this would be necessary for you.
If you are a payrolled employee then your employer would have enrolled you in PAYE, which is Pay As You Earn, for tax and National Insurance.
If your income from savings and investments is over £10,000 in the financial year, you need to register for Self Assessment.
