RE: Query Regarding Sole Trader Registration and UTR Application Timing
Hi,
While you don't need technically to register for your UTR and to file your 24/25 tax return until the 6th of April 2025, you can register for your UTR as soon as you like - you can do so here:
What a sole trader is
We would advise registering as soon as you know that you will need to file a return.
Thank you. -
RE: Residency status
Hi,
Certificates of residence can only be issued where a UK tax resident individual has a foreign income or capital gain and cannot be for a future date. Where there is no foreign income, but
there is a tax implication, we can issue a letter of confirmation of residence, again not for a future date. Where there is no tax implication or foreign income, it is up the individual to find out
what the overseas authority will accept. See link below:
How to apply for a certificate of residence to claim tax relief abroad
Thank you.

RE: Separate Vat Registration required for EU countries?
Hi,
If you supply digital services to customers outside the UK then this will be Outside the Scope of UK VAT.
If the supplies are to businesses in the EU then the VAT will be accounted for under the reverse charge procedure by the EU company.
However if you supply these services to individuals in the EU then there will be a requirement to either register for VAT in the countries where your individual customers belong or you can
register for the Non Union VAT MOSS system.
Please see the guidance below:
VAT rules for supplies of digital services to consumers
Defining digital services
Thank you.
