RE: CGT Property Not Registered As Owner
Hi,
You are still the owner of a % of the property as per the will and as such if the value of the property has increased since then, it is possible that capital gains will be due see-
Capital Gains Tax: what you pay it on, rates and allowances.
There is no email address for contact and if you need further information you can contact us on 0300 200 3300.

RE: Missing national insurance credits
Hi,
Before 2010, you only received national insurance credits for being in full time education for tax years you were ages 16 17 and 18.
If you turned 18 before April 6th 2008 you would not have received credits for the 2008/09 tax year.
If you turned 18 after April 6th you should have credits there, if so you need to write into us.

include with your form or letter
• the dates you were a student
• confirmation you were under 19 during the gap (proof of Date of Birth)
• any employment details
• evidence of any earnings during the period for example pay slips, P45 or P60
• your personal details
• your signature
Regarding Child Benefit or as the credits were called back then, Home responsibilities protection, child benefit must have been paid for a child under the age of 16 for a full tax year in order for us to award HRP credits. A tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April. If your child was born in July 2008, you would not have been entitled to HRP credits for the 08/09 tax year.

RE: ESA closed claim and National Insurance credits
Hi,
If you think your NI record is wrong please and are missing benefit credits you should contact the issuing DWP office.
More information can be found at Contact Jobcentre Plus: Existing benefit claims - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The DWP can advise on benefit credits as this is not something HMRC deal with.

RE: CGT liability of my primary residance after renting
Hi Danielle,
This will only be taken into account when you come to actually sell the property as its the total gain that is taken into account, relief is then given for the period you lived in the property as well as any capital improvements.

RE: Delay in tax refund for husband who passed away
Hi,
There maybe information we are missing that can delay claims which may not have been known when the original reponse was made, there may also be backlogs in certain work areas, again we cannot specifically say why something may take longer than expected without seeing the specific case.
As previously advised we are unable to check personal records through the forum.
Please therefore contact HMRC if you wish to check this further. Income Tax: general enquiries
