RE: Sending and receiving money to/from family in Serbia
Hi,
There are no Income Tax implications on the giving of or receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends.
These would then potentially be subject to tax. Further guidance can be found here Tax on savings interest and
Tax on dividends
You may also wish to consider speaking to Inheritance Tax regarding any inheritance tax implications. Inheritance Tax: general enquiries
The rules on giving gifts can be found here: How Inheritance Tax works: thresholds, rules and allowances

RE: Tax liability when a child is using my ebay account
Hi,
As your son is buying goods for resale, with the intention of selling them for a profit, then it is likely that this will be classsed as trading.
If his total income from trading is over the Trading and Miscellaneous Income Allowance of £1000 there will be tax due on the profits.
Please see the guidance here: Selling online and paying taxes - information sheet

RE: I don't understand my Tax Free Amount calculation
Hi,
Without seeing the actual specifics of your tax record, it will hard for me to really provide an actual reason for this.
It could be your estimated income we hold is higher than you have stated, so it might need adjusting?
It could possibly be your tax free allowances have been split? maybe if you have a 2nd source of income? I can only apologise for the issues you have had contacting our helplines of late.
Have you checked via your PTA as you can review and amend certain aspects of your tax code using this. Personal tax account: sign in or set up.

RE: Tax calculation clarification (2023-2024)
Hi,
It's most likely that your dividend income was covered by your Personal Allowance, so no Dividend Allowance was needed.
£1000 savings allowance was deducted from the £3025 of savings income (after the rest of your Personal Allowance was applied), and the Starting Rate
for Savings of £5000 was then applied to the remainder.
To confirm this, contact us by webchat or phone via Self Assessment: general enquiries

RE: annual bonus tax implications
Hi langers1974,
If your total income, including your bonus, does not exceed £150,000 in 23/24, you will not have to complete a Self Assessment tax return.
From 24/25, you do not need to complete a Self Assessment return, regardless of your level of income, if you have no other Self Assessment criteria.
To accurately update the amount of income your tax code is based on, and for more advice on how your tax code works, contact us by phone
