I can confirm that the 18 Digit Number for customers living overseas is up to 18 Digits.
The format of the 18 Digit Number is: Your National Insurance number, IC, Surname, Initial.

RE: 2022-23 Tax refund due to foreign double taxation
Hi hlvrn,
If you are UK resident and domicile, you are liable on your worldwide income and you need to declare the foreign income unless the terms of the double taxation treaty state that it is only taxable in that country.
You can then claim foreign tax credit relief for the tax paid abroad to reduce your UK liability. you should therefore contact us on 0300 200 3310 to ensure you have completed your return correctly.

Hi A DVB,
There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends,these would then potentially be subject to tax.

Your parents should check the tax consequences of this transaction, with the Spanish Tax authorities.
