RE: Guidance on airbnb income from primary residence
Hi,
Income gained from the letting of your main residence with Airbnb is solely to be declared in the UK Property Supplementary page SA105.
There is no specific form or section relevant to Airbnb income.
However, depending on your letting income I suggest you refer to SAM100050 - Records: set up taxpayer record: criteria for a PAYE / SA record and SAM100060 - Records: set up taxpayer record: criteria for an SA record and to ensure that you meet the criteria regarding the declaration of property income.
Thank you. -
RE: WARNING: This figure is high in relation to 'Total rents and other income from property'.
Hi,
You will only require expenditure to cover the income for the year.
The remain unused expenditure will be carried forward as a loss and utilised in a later year.
Ensure you complete SA105 in full.
Please refer to the following hyper link regarding the notes that refer to Self Assessment: UK property (SA105)- and also the loss help sheet HS227 HS227 Losses (2024)
