Hi Admin I was told by HMRC that they need my NiNO to get my NI contribution for the years I worked in the UK, although I never had one then but a temporary. But I can't get one as per the site your refer to Apply for NI tells: "You can apply for a National Insurance number if you: - live in the UK - have the right to work in the UK - are working, looking for work or have an offer to start work" To who should I go to get that solved ? Hi Admin, My application for NI gets rejected as I don't work nor leave in the UK anymore. I wrote and talked to HMRC PT Operations NE, they wrote to me saying I need to contact Jobcentre Plus By phone +44141 207 3649 or +44141 207 3648 : both non assigned numbers Or by mail DWP GBC Natial Insurance number Center Admin team 21 lndia Street, 5th Floor, Portcullis House, Glasgow, G2 4PH But I already sent a letter to that address Royal Mail sent it back as "Addresee gone away" Thx Luc B.

Hi All, Sory for this long message. Just trying to give all the details. I like to get my personal contribution to National Insurance with the form PDU1. But I need to provide my NI number. I worked in the UK between 04/1996 and 12/2004 but never given a NI number. Instead on my payslips/P60/P45 I have temporary number. - I have register at HMRC and got a Government Gateway user ID, but to confirm registration it is requesting information that does not validate any NI number. - I asked with the form CA5403 to recover my NI with all details, but they replied that they can't as I don't have a NI nulber and should request one. - But to apply for a NI nulmber it says on HMRC: "You can apply for a National Insurance number if you: -live in the UK -have the right to work in the UK -are working, looking for work or have an offer to start work" I don't comply any of these points. So how do I get a NI to get my past contributions to NI. Thx in advance for your help. LB
