Re: Small landlord - will I need to include non-property income in my quarterly returns?
Hi,
Yes, you would both be required to complete a tax return.
This must include all of your income to ensure the correct amount of tax due is calculated.
Thank you. -
RE: Questions regarding YouTube
Hi,
This money would not be subject to Income Tax unless it generated interest in your bank account once transferred.
The interest would then be subject to tax.

Re: Expenses have been paid by employer in my invoice, should I have to pay tax on them?
Hi,
You would enter the reimbursement of the expenses, for example £200 for the payment received. You would also enter the same amount of allowable expenses paid out.
This will balance each other out so that no tax is calculated on these expenses.

Re: Inheritance tax on home sold before death
Hi,
You would need to contact our deceased estates team to see what is included in her estate upon death. In general however, the sale of a property will be subject to Capital Gains Tax.
However, if this was the main property for an indivudal, they will be entitled to private residence relief for the period of time lived in.
Please see here for further guidance which also outlines rules for when someone goes into a care home, under the section for period of ownership.

Being married does not automatically mean you will pay less tax.

Re: Landlord year-end change
Hi,
If you select that property income is less than £1000 and you are using this allowance, then the property section will not appear.
You would need to select yes to this being over £1000 in order for the relevant property section to show.
Thank you. -
