Re:Using Alternative Evidence to Determine B2B
Hi,
If your customer is unable to provide a VAT number you can accept alternative evidence. This includes certificates from fiscal authorities or other commercial documents indicating the nature of the customer’s activities in their home country.
All VAT records must be kept for 6 years, this would include the record of the alternative evidence.

Re:How and when tax is payable on fixed rate bonds
Hi,
As you cannot access the interest until it matures, you declare it in the year of maturity.
UK banks and building societies notify HMRC of interest received and you would only be required to submit a tax return if your total interest (excluding ISA) was over £10k. you are entitled to the savings allowance each tax year. guidance is available:

Re:Cash gift from India to UK
Hi,
You would need to have evidence from your parents of the money deposited as a gift to ensure that it is not treated as your own income since it is being sent from your own account.
This would be a letter from them that is witnessed by a 3rd independant party.

Re:Self-employment & full time employment and questions about student finance repayment.
Hi,
The student loan payments taken from your PAYE employment will be based on that source only. any additional payment then due based on the self employed income will be calculated on your self assessment tax return.

Re: HK Previous Salary, Contract Gratuity and MPF
Hi,
Although this Hong Kong employment and bonus income were paid when you had arived in the UK, the tax treaty confirms that it is only taxable in Hong Kong.
If split year treatment applies to your circumstances, you would only need to mention the income in the freehand box 19 on page TR7 of SA100.
It should not be declared anywhere else. Any income that is not taxable in the UK, should be shown in the additional information box.
In this way you are complying with the requirement of full disclosure, but will not be including in any calculations. NIC is not chargeable on non taxable income.
Thank you.
