Re:Importing personal belongings from a deceased relative abroad?
Hi,
Any goods imported in to UK require declaration, whether they are for personal use or commercial.
Customs charges will also be applicable as per tariff and value of the goods unless a relief has been claimed. You can claim a relief to pay no Customs Duty and VAT if you're importing inherited goods into the UK.
Pay no import duties or VAT on inherited goods

Re:Re importing GB Origin Goods from EU back in to UK Proof Of Retrurn Goods Relief
Hi,
As per RGR guidance, we will consider alternative evidence which clearly confirms the previous export of those goods and their duty status at export (that is goods in free circulation, products of an inward processing operation or end-use goods).
If the goods are readily identifiable and duty status is clear, we may accept one or more of the following documents as evidence:
• a document that proves the goods were previously in Great Britain, Northern Ireland or the EU (where relief is being claimed in Northern Ireland for goods originally exported from the EU)
• a copy of the export invoice
• a copy of the export airway bill or bill of lading
• a commercial certificate of shipment prepared at the time of export
• a certificate of posting relating to the export of the goods
• a copy of the import invoice if it clearly shows that the goods are being returned
• a suitable statement from the manufacturer or exporter if other than yourself
• a preferential origin form EUR1 in certain cases
• in the case of collectable items, catalogue information or qualified opinion from a recognised expert in the field such as National Institutes and specialist auction houses
• record from the trader’s stock record book
If you’re regularly importing returned goods and presentation of the evidence at the time of import is difficult for you, we may be able to offer alternative arrangements.
For more help, we would advise contacting the Customs and International trade helpline on 0300 322 9434 if you have any other issues with your query.

Re: Returning online store goods to EU
Hi,
Please speak to the courier you are using to send the goods back and explain these are returned goods so they can fill the declaration correctly.
Please speak to DHL to gather all the information required for C285 claim form.

Re:wrong VAT on books charged to the exporter to the UK who used DDP terms - how to claim it back?
Hi,
Unfortunately we are unable to assist as it will be UPS who needs to take steps to correct this as the arrangement was DDP.
Customer can speak/contact NDRC for further advice if C285 can still used for a reclaim.
We would advise contacting the Customs and International trade helpline on 0300 322 9434 if you have any other issues with your query.

Re:Importing from EU and re-exporting union goods to the EU
Hi,
The Importer in the EU needs to check with the relevant customs authority to see if they can claim returned goods relief.

Re:CGT split for married couples
Hi,
You would need to apply for an alternative split prior to any sale taking place.
If the house is jointly onwned you would submit a form 17 and a declaration of trust:
Declare beneficial interests in joint property and income this cannot be applied retrospectively. the split can be in any portion you wish other than the 50/50.

Re:Declaration of overseas saving interest
Hi,
1. You can use the rates specified for the tax year in which you bought/sold
2. As its not a UK residential property you dont need to report and pay within 60 days
3. That is correct
Thank you. -
Re:Long time investment
Hi,
If you have no evidence to support the costs for buying the property you will not be able to claim.
If you do not have the actual purchase price, you will need to contact an estate agent for a valuation based on similar properties sold at the same time.
Thank you. -
