Hello I completed the online form for employee expenses. I believe that it's P87SUB. Until today( which is the estimated date of receiving response) it said that it was processing, however I have just looked and it is saying that it is either being processed still due to how busy hmrc is or that hmrc are doing technical work on it. Can you please advise on what that means? I apologise if I have missed your answer to this question in previous threads.

I've received a notification of overpaid tax - for 2018-19 - £14, 870.15 Issued, 25 March 23. I've called countless times, I was told if I didn't receive funds by 18 May 23 to call. I have done that. I'm now told that 'Security checks' are taking place and that a referral has been placed. I'm now awaiting further communication and this process can take a further 8 weeks??? After reading many of the posts on here, I'm quite disturbed by the lack of understanding & clarity people are receiving. What is the nature of the communications I'm waiting for? Why can't I speak to someone about my case? I'm deeply concerned.

Received an email encouraging early submission of SA 22/23. Bit rich. Last year I helped my son to do his. He’s self employed and pays 20% CIS tax upfront with every month of income. Took nearly 6 months to get his refund. Absolutely shameful. HMRC had his money for over a year and of course no interest. HMRC very quick to charge interest and late payment fees. Disgrace is that this is a low earner with a completely uncomplicated tax position.

Hi James,

It will be advising that currently we are taking longer to process these forms due to the amount we have received at this time.

Thank you.

Hi,

Some repayments are stopped for additional security checks. We aim to complete these as soon as possible. If we require any further information you will receive a letter.

Thank you.

Hi, I am also trying to get my refund from last year, you say contact the self assessment team but apparently they are closed until September. I have called the normal tax area only to be hung up on. I have emailed with no reply. Its been roughly six weeks since I used your online system to request a refund. As some one else said, if you owe you are charged interest, daily, but nothing on your delay. Who can we speak to to sort this out? Please give us a telephone number or an email than can actually help.

I have awaiting my tax refund (£1474) for over two months. I had one year self employed and am now an apprentice taking a low wage trying to better myself. My online account has saying "repayment pending" since then, with no option to contact HMRC to ask why. The "Chat" option is just a bot, so that doesn't help. I need my money, what can I do?

Hi Harry McCormack,
When you use the 'ask HMRC online' if you mention 'speak to an adviser' it will direct you to the webchat queue.
Thank you.

Hi, I found this forum because I´m waiting for my refund as many other people, and the expected date for these notorious "additional security checks" is getting postponed each time. Does HMRC provide details on their security checks procedure ?
