Hi, In the SA1 form, one of the questions asks whether I have got untaxed income that cannot be collected through my PAYE tax code. Does this question ask for job-related untaxed income only? If the untaxed income is foreign interest or divided, should I answer "Yes" to this question? Moreover, the questions in the SA1 form also ask about the date started receiving the income. If split year treatment applies, do I answer the questions based on the UK part of the split year only? Thank you.

Hi, I am sorry for the confusion because I am asking questions for myself (employed) and for someone (self-employed). Personally, I will need to complete the SA1 form because I am not self-employed. Would you mind helping me with the original questions in this thread? Thank you very much.

Hi
Untaxed income is a seperate income type from Foreign Earnings.
Untaxed income could be untaxed bank interest for example.
Thankyou.
Regards.

Hi, My details: Fulfill apply split year treatment 2021-22 Overseas part: 6.4.2021 - 30.9.2021, UK part: 1.10.2021 - 5.4.2022 During UK part status: Unemployed and Not self-employed Foreign income: Foreign bank saving interest and dividends altogether While filling in SA Form in Section" Why do you need to complete a tax return?", I am wondering which option are best describe for me to tick: 1) Have you been getting taxable foreign dividends in excess of £300 a year or any amount of other taxable income? 2) Have you been getting untaxed income that cannot be collected through your PAYE tax code? Please advise with thanks.

Hi QQ
On page 2 of the form, select the last  question - do you have any other reason to complete a tax return - and this will allow you to state split year.
Thankyou.
Regards.

Hi, Sorry for bothering again. I still need further confirmation as follow:- 1) Do you mean even if I have foreign income, i,e foreign bank saving interest and dividends even altogether below £100 (all received from overseas bank account, not via any UK bank/accounts) , I still do not need to tick any option on page 2 of the SA1 Form??? 2) Just only answer the last question - Do you have any other reason to complete a tax return and state the starting date of the split year treatment for 2021/22? Thanks a lot.

Hi QQ,

The last question on page 2 is in fact one of the options that you can select.

Thank you.
