RE: HMRC lowering my personal allowance too much
Hi,
If your husband has received a tax code then HMRC would also be able to view the tax code issued. In this case we would need to access your husbands record to review this and update if needed.

RE: Allowance on saving interest
Hi,
In the first example you would be in the higher rate of tax so would receive the £500 savings allowance. You would not be eligible to the £5000 starting rate if your income is over £17,570 for the current 2023 to 2024 tax year. Again as you would be in the higher rate the savings allowance will be £500.

RE: Donations to registered Charities
Hi,
If you pay tax at the basic rate you would not receive any additional relief for the donations. If you are a higher rate taxpayer then you would be able to claim relief on the donations.

RE: Tax relief for pension contribution
Hi,
If the pension contributions are taken from your net income after tax calculated then you would enter the grossed up figure in the employers pension scheme box.

RE: State pension, bank interest and allowance sharing
Hi,
The Personal Savings Allowance (PSA) introduced a 0% rate band for untaxed interest, up to the value of £1000 for Basic Rate taxpayers. If your untaxed interest exceeds both this amount, and any remaining tax free personal allowances, then the remaining amount of untaxed interest would be subject to the regular 20% Basic Rate of tax.
Thank you.
