RE: XI number registration for Northern Ireland
Hi,
Please see the conditions below for being able to apply for an XI number:
Selling or moving goods between Northern Ireland and the EU
If you have an XI number and you purchase goods from the EU and the goods move from a member state to Northern Ireland then these supplies should be zero rated as arrivals in to Northern Ireland. You can see guidance here:
Northern Ireland acquisition of goods from an EU member state

RE: CGT or IHT if property given away ?
Hi,
If the will states that she is to be the 100% owner then no CGT will be due. IHT depends on the total value of the estate. You can see guidance here:

Hi,
The trading allowance does not apply as this is not a trade.

RE: Student loan repayments with 2x employments
Hi,
The way your student loans deductions are calculated through Self Assessment, by applying the threshold to your combined income, is correct. The same method would be applied to taxpayers with multiple PAYE employments but no self employment, if it were practical for employers to implement it.
You will not pay back more student loans than is ultimately due to be repaid, though.

RE: Self assessment calculation query for higher earner with pension contributions
Hi,
Yes, that would be how you would calculate the tax. When you submit your Self Assessment you will receive a calculation with a breakdown of how the tax was calculated.
