RE: State Pension and how to record on self assessment tax form
Hi nearly66,
HMRC receives your State Pension figure from the Department for Work and Pensions. If the figure you actually receive differs from this, you can amend your return to reflect your own figure.

RE: Full UK Job and part time contractor job in EU
Hi,
You would declare the foreign employment income in the employment section of the online return, on paper SA102, in pounds sterling only, as this will allow Self Assement to include the income in your tax calculation.
You would also declare the foreign income in the foreign section for employment in the online return, on paper SA106. You would convert the employment income shown on your letter from the Polish tax office into pounds sterling, using a just and reasonable exchange rate. For your convenience you can see the exchange rates here:
Exchange rates from HMRC in CSV and XML format
You are free to use any of the supplied rates or one of your own choosing.
Thank you. -

RE: Tax on UK state pension when living in Italy
Hi,
Your UK State Pension and any private pensions are taxable only in Italy, under article 18(1) of the reciprocal tax treaty between the UK and Italy:
UK/Italy Double Taxation Convention
To ensure that you do not pay tax in the UK, you will need to complete the DT individual form as previously advised. If you do not, you may be taxed in both countries with no tax relief for double taxation.

RE: Business mileage from home to various sites
Hi Darren Butler,
The fact you have an office, the place of work remains the office and not your home. For this reason any mileage would be based from there and not your home. You can see guidance here:
Ordinary commuting and private travel (490: Chapter 3)
Thank you.
