RE: Private pensions and paying into them via Ltd company
Regarding this comment from "HMRC Admin 25 Response" "We do need to know if the pension was set up and paid by the company on behalf of the director or is it an existing private pension set up prior to the directors appointment." What would be the reason of HMRC needing to know if it's a pension setup by the company and a pre existing private pension? Just that I don't currently have either, so could setup up one or the other if one isn't allowed. -
RE: Student loan payments and savings interest
It turns out you do repay your student loan from unearned income over £2000, dividends and savings interest. Also pension contributions add to the threshold before repayment, which I wasn't aware of. I suppose this is all calculated for you in an online return, but it's good to know. -
RE: Student loan payments and savings interest
Hi, subsequently I found this document on the HMRC website talking about if you earn over £2000 of "unearned income" you will need to make student loan repayments on the full amount, so full amount from £2001 https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/collection-of-student-loans-manual/cslm16035 HMRC Admin 19 is this not the case? -
Student loan payments and savings interest
I understand you don't pay National Insurance on savings interest, but is savings interest taken into account as an income when repaying a plan 1 student loan? Thanks -
RE: Transfer of shares to spouse
...as my platform does not allow in-species transfers or spouse transfers. Thanks -
RE: Transfer of shares to spouse
Does the process involve selling the shares/funds, transferring the cash, then the spouse rebuying the original shares/funds? -
Can't see maximum government when account has £0
Not sure if this is the right forum, but it was the nearest for my question I could see. Regarding Tax free Child Care accounts. It doesn't tell you how much "maximum government top-up" you can still get for the entitlement period if your balance is £0. Why is this and can it be changed please? -
Interest on joint account in one name
Our joint account is with Chase, but they don't offer Joint accounts in both our names. We both pay in every month and it is obviously a joint account. Is the interest shared via both of us?
