RE: Company director remote working in Dubai – personal tax
Hi AB2121,
A P85 is used to inform HMRC that you, an individual, are leaving the UK.
Your questions appear to relate to tax planning which we cannot answer in this forum.
Companies and individuals are required to 'self-assess' their tax affairs, and HMRC guidance which can be found at GOV.UK is available to help with this. This includes assessing whether a company or individual is within the charge to UK tax.
It is your/your accountants responsibility to make these decisions, using the guidance available and being in possession of the full facts.
If you still need help after using our guidance, you can write to Corporation Tax Services, including your personal details and those of your company.
Thank you. -
RE: Separation of foreign and domestic income with relation to VAT
Hi aj williamson,
The turnover relating to overseas would be classed in VAT terms as Outside The Scope of VAT.
This turnover would not go towards the VAT turnover when considering if the business needs to register for VAT as it is deemed Outside The Scope of VAT
The VAT exempt foreign income can go on the box as other business income and not part of the turnover.
Thank you.

RE: Can not reset password online
Hi Dannyjax79,
There is no one reason why a customer would be unable to reset their password online.
There is no known issue for self-assessment customers being unable to login or reset password online.
HMRC online services: sign in or set up an account

RE: NIC 3 Online Payment does not define which similar years you want to pay off
Hi Minton,
In order for the payment to be allocated correctly, an 18 digit reference number will need to be generated by HMRC.
To get this, you would contact the National Insurance Department on 03002003500.
When the advisor generates this, they will make note of the years the payment is for on your account.
Thank you. -
RE: Class 3 Voluntary Contributions for missing years - single payment or monthly?
Hi Jwl,
With missing years, you would pay the year in one lump sum.
You can only pay by direct debit for the current year and going forward.

RE: How to find old NI contribution record (25yrs ago, no idea about NI number back then)
Hi Jvparkin,
Unfortunately we are unable to give general advice on this. You would have to call the National Insurance Helpline on 03002003500.
Thank you.

RE: Salary not showing with HMRC - what now?
Hi Natalia Urban,
If not shown then the employer would need to submit the details online.
If they are not sure how to do this they can contact our Employers helpline Employers: general enquiries.
If they will not take any action then I would submit a letter explaining the situation with your payslips to reivew.
The address is HMRC,
Self Assessment & PAYE,
BX9 1AS
UK

RE: Voluntary contributions
Hi davidjmoran Moran,
The current timescale for a payment to be allocated to the account is 8 weeks from date of payment.
Once the payment is allocated, you will be able to view this on your Personal Tax Account (PTA).
If it is not showing after the 8 weeks, please contact us on 03002003500.

RE: National minimum wages enquiry - Pay Reference Period
Hi Pooh,
As you have indicated in your question, a person who qualifies for the National Minimum Wage (NMW) shall be remunerated by their employer, in respect of their work, in any pay reference period, at a rate which is not less than the NMW.
The rate of NMW at which a worker is entitled to be remunerated as respects work, in a pay reference period, is the rate which applies to the worker on the first day of that period.
With regards to your specific situation, there is a lot of information that would be required, which is not appropriate in an open forum discussion, in order to provide specific advice on your status; and therefore which pay reference period is correct to you. For instance, Section 34 of the National Minimum Wage Act 1998 may be applicable, but without a complete understanding of the full arrangements in place, HMRC would not be in a position to comment.
If you require further assistance, please consider seeking independent advice, such as, by contacting the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS), or an independent legal advisor.
Thank you.
