RE: Scaffolding poles and timber boards
Hi KM,
Companies must self-assess their tax liabilities, so HMRC cannot provide advice on what the company can or cannot claim.
You can find information relevant to your query at:
CA23115 - Plant and Machinery Allowance (PMA): First Year Allowance (FYA): distinction between leasing and provision of services.
If you need further information, you will need to speak to a financial adviser, such as an accountant.
Thank you.

RE: Payment of interest overseas - both recipient and payer are outside the UK
Hi adri_ss,
You can find information about the obligation for companies not resident in the UK to deduct basic-rate income tax from UK-source interest at:
SAIM9200 - Payment of interest overseas
and
SAIM9090 - Deduction of tax: yearly interest: UK source: the general rule.
If you are unable to request a CT61 return, please write to Business Tax and Customs, HMRC, BX9 1AX.
Thank you. -
RE: Tax implications on sale of Business name
Hi tomgoldsmith,
You can find HMRC guidance on Business Asset Disposal Relief (BADR) by going to:
Business Asset Disposal Relief (Self Assessment helpsheet HS275).
If that guidance does not answer all your questions, you can contact HMRC by calling 0300 200 3310 or writing to Self-Assessment, HM Revenue and Customs, BX9 1AS.
Thank you.

RE: Declaring payrolled benefits in kind in self-assessment
Hi englandreturns,
If the benefit is taxed through payroll you answer no to the question.
If you answer yes you would be taxed on the amount again.
Thank you. -
RE: Online services
Hi
You can create your own PDF document with the details and attach that rather than the individual disposal reports and that way you can still file online.
Thank you. -
RE: When to submit the self assessment?
Hi QueenQueen,
As you don't need to declare the income from Hong Kong as that is wholly taxable in Hong Kong, you would select none.
Thank you. -
RE: Self Assessment (2021-2022) required?
Hi BBM,
No need to report it on a tax return as it is under £300 and will be covered by the dividends allowance.
Thank you.
