RE: State Pension Contributions Living Abroad
Hi augustquestions,
The CF83 application form is for customers who want to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions for periods living abroad.
From the information you have provided, you would like to pay for a period when you were living in the UK, therefore the CF83 is not the correct application form for you to complete.
Your first step would be to contact the Department for Work and Pensions (0800 731 0175 lines are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm) to find out if paying for the gaps in your National Insurance records will increase your pension.
Once you have confirmed that with them, you can either write to HMRC National Insurance contributions office to request a shortfall of the National Insurance contribution’s you can pay. See address below:
National Insurance Contributions & Employer Office
PT Operations North East England
HM Revenue and Customs
BX9 1AN
Or you can contact HMRC by telephone on 0300 200 3500 to request this information.
Alternatively, you can use the webchat facility - National Insurance: general enquiries, choose the option ‘Ask HMRC online’.
This facility is available Monday to Friday from 10am to 6pm.
Thank you

RE: Request for Assistance Regarding A1 Form for Digital Nomad Visa Application
Hi lucy Andrews,
Unfortunately there is no other option to obtain a A1 certificate.
• Their employer or agent must fill in form CA3822 ‘Application for a certificate of continuing liability’
• their employer must fill in form CA3821 if it is the first time they need an A1 certificate.
• that even if they have been abroad for a long time they may still need to provide a A1 to the local authorities.
• if their agent fills in form CA3822 they must have an agent authority form 64-8 in place to act on their behalf
• they can download the forms from our website www.gov.uk
Thank you.

RE: Cashback
Hi geckomandoza,
No you do not need to declare this unless your savings exceed the limit.
Other income includes: • income from savings and investments, including gross amount of dividends, for example, if you own shares in a company • State Pensions and other UK pensions • property income • trust income • foreign income • notional income.
For more help on working out your income, go to Working out your income for tax credit claims and renewals
Enter the total amount of your other income that exceeds £300 (if you’re claiming as a couple the £300 limit applies to your joint other income) plus any miscellaneous income received, and for students, any Adult Dependant’s Grant.
Thank you. -

RE: Completing CF83 form after returning to the UK
Hi AndrewJohn14,
I am sorry that you are having difficulty completing form CF83 to enable advice for shortfalls in NI whilst you were abroad.
The form CF83 is designed for applying for future Voluntary NICs whilst abroad, but many of the details eg. your period(s) abroad dates and employment
status is needed for confirming which Class (2 or 3) we can quote for shortfall periods.
It is advisable, if you are applying for Class2 to include an Employment History with the application form.
Please complete it as you are now returned to the UK and tick the box to request shortfall advice.
You do not need to complete the Direct Debit Mandate.
Shortfall payments cannot be made by Direct Debit.
Please include a separate letter with any additional information.
Thank you. -
