Capital losses after 10 years of non residency

The time limit for claiming capital losses is 4 years after the end of the tax year in which you disposed of the asset.

You cannot deduct the cost of paying rent on the property you live in against the rental income from the let property as this is not wholly and exclusively for business purposes.

Hi Sunil Lad,
Income from jointly owned property should be reported in your tax return on the basis of each individuals share of the income, say 50/50
so yes you will need to split the income and report this separately.

The SA105 notes tell you what to do regards the tax already paid in italy

RE: Self assessment for years 20/21 and 21/22
Hi george lane,
No return is required if it is only to claim relief on your pension.
If this is the only reason for a return, it is not required. if your contribution was less than £10,000 you can contact us Income Tax: general enquiries.
to have the amendment done for you.
If over £10,000 you will need ot provide evidence.
