RE:Renting property to children
Hi Gary,
There are no rules with regards to renting property to your children or close family members or as to how little you can charge, but as this may affect your insurance and mortgage providers.
You may need to seek further advice from them.
It is always important to document everything to show your expenses.
Thank you. -
RE: Expenses (e.g. council tax, insurance) during time a rental property was empty awaiting sale?
Hi lu,
As long as the property is not being used for any other purposes then it will be an ongoing concern and would qualify for relief.
Should you stop using the property for rental or decide to sell the property please refer to our web pages for further information.
Thank you, -
