RE: Title deed as evidence for form 17
Hi Syed Tanjill Ahmed,
For your wife to receive a portion of the rental income, she must have beneficial interest in the property.
Therefore, you will be required to submit a Deed of Trust signed and witnessed accordingly to HMRC.
If the rental income is to be split other than the default position of 50/50.
Form 17 must be completed and submitted accordingly to HMRC. Further information can be found at

The management of the property is not a concern of HMRC; however, it is essential that the income and expenditure are correctly recorded and that the split of the income is declared in each of the beneficial owner’s tax returns.

Hi Angel,
It's most likely that you do not owe any tax on the previous years.
Your banks and building societies still declare your untaxed interest to us (even if they don't take the tax off), and you have additional savings allowances detailed here:
Tax on savings interest
If you still feel that you may have interest that is due to be taxed, please check and confirm all amounts received for the years in question.
