RE: Joint Account of Overseas Bank - How to report on Foreign Income with No Share at all
Hi
You will therefore need to submit a declaration ot trust signed by both parties and witnessed to show that you have 0% beneficial interest on the bank account.
You need to do this prior to submission of the tax return as you need to have confirmation from HMRC on the date that the new split applies from. For inheritance tax it would be taken into account for the estate. -
RE: Entering Belgian State Pension and Belgian Private Pension Lumpsum payment in Self Assessment
Hi
Belgian state pension is not taxable in the UK and should not be shown on the tax return.
If the lumpsum relates to the state pension, then it should not be included on the tax return.
If the lumpsum arises from a private pension first credited or paid before 6 April 2013, then it should not be included in the tax return.
If the pension is first credited or paid after 6 April 2013, then it is taxable in the UK and should be declared on the tax return. -
RE: Sole trader income in foreign currency
Hi
No there is no capital gain. -
RE: Eligible losses to be carried forward
Hi
The boxes on the tax return are summary boxes.
You would show that there were 20 transactions and declare a total for the 20 transactions in each box.
You would also add as an attachment, a breakdown of the 20 transactions, which would show how you arrived at the summary information.
If you had a spreadsheet, showing 20 disposals, you would add the 20 disposals and enter the total on the tax return, the same for purchase costs etc. -

RE: USA VAT
Hi
If the USA company is registered for UK VAT and it meets the conditions for reclaiming VAT then you would claim it back on your VAT return.
If it is a USA tax that you have been charged you cannot reclaim that back form the UK. -
