RE: PAYE and Tax Refund
Hi Ed,
You would only need to submit a SA102 if you meet Self Assessment criteria.
You can check at Check if you need to send a Self Assessment tax return. If you do not meet the criteria then your record will be reviewed after the tax year end once all your PAYE pay and tax details are received. Once reviewed if overpaid you will receive a calcultion with the details.

RE: Pension Lump Sum, self assessment and Student loan repayments

As your pension lump sum will be tax-free, it does not need to be entered on your Self Assessment return. As such, it should not affect your calculated student loans repayments.
