Dears, I started a company a year ago, and now I applied to strike off my company. I want to ask about the following please: 1. What is the email address to post the DS01 form, or to inform I applied for strike off? 2. Since the company started I made only 3 sales transactions with total amount of almost $100. I am unable to provide the invoices because my Shopify store account was deleted and replaced by a new one that hadn't made any sales. What do I need to do? Thank you Regards

Hi Tarek,
You will need to contact Companies House in regards to striking off and complete DS01 form.
If the Company has traded, you will need to file a Tax return with HMRC for the account period trading took place.
Thank you.

Hello, I want to strike off an active company that is not dormant. But has no trading history, it has never traded since incorporation. And is not registered for corporation tax. I have read that since the company has never traded then it doesn’t have to file the final accounts or the tax return with the HMRC. I just want to confirm if that is true?

Hi,
A few months ago I set up a company with me as a single director, I ticked the box to state I would be trading immediately but I didn’t. The company has done no trading, no bank accounts, no employees, etc it is as it was since the day I registered it in companies house.
I wish to strike the company off - do I need to file any tax returns (nothing to report at all since 0 trading) or can I just proceed to apply to strike off and dissolve a company online?
Thank you.

Hi Azio
If the company has not traded and you wish to strike off, you will need to inform HMRC that the company has not traded since incorporation.
Guidance on how to do this can be found at: Tell HMRC your company is dormant for Corporation Tax
You will not be required to file any tax returns.
You then apply, to be struck off, through Companies House.
Thank you

Hi
I have strick off my company in July 2024. HMRC made objection in September 2024. I called HMRC and the officer said he doesn't know why becuase there is no any abnormal at my company HMRC account. He dont know why HMRC has given the Objection.
So I go back to Companieshouse ask what to do. Today companies house replied me by email: " Unfortunately, we do not know which department within HMRC has objected, please contact your local corporate tax office for more information on the objection or contact HMRC on 0300 200 3410."
Can someone help me this? or has similar situation?
Companies house told me to go ask HMRC, HMRC told me there is no issue and go back to Companies House.
What should I do please?
Best regards

Hi Ke,
This forum has no access to any tax records so cannot comment on previous interactions with HMRC.
Unfortunately, we have to give you the same advice as you have previously received.
Our Corporation Tax: general enquiries is again where we would redirect you to
Please contact the CT helpline on 0300 200 3410 with your company details.
They will then be able to review your records and can send a referral to have the objection to strike off reviewed.
Thank you.
