Hi, I completed a CF83 in March 23. I was approved to pay 17 years 2006-2023 in Feb 24. On 29th Feb 24, I paid for the 17 years by bank transfer to the "HMRC NIC Receipts" Bank Acc, using my NI Number. Surname, etc as reference. Today in Gov Gateway, i was credited for the 2023-2024 full year, but not for any of the other years from 2006-2023. I did intend to pay for 23/24, but wanted to bring 2006-2023 up to date first. Will this be corrected automatically or do i need to follow up? SeamusD

Hi SeamusD,
Without being able to check the account we can’t see how/why the money has been allocated this way, please contact our international caseworker
team by phone on +44 191 2037010 or National Insurance: general enquiries
Thank you.

Hi, I finally managed to get through to the 191 no above. They confirmed the money was rec.d, and only 1 year paid. but they were unable to allocate correctly during the call. they sent an email to the "payments team" with my instructions. It is now more than 8 weeks and we still have one year paid instead of 17. What is the wait time for class 2 payments from abroad? Do you have a no for the voluntary class 2 payments team? Many thanks SeamusD

Hi SeamusD,
Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a timescale for your query.
Please contact the helpline for an update, the number to ring from abroad is +44 (0) 191 2037010, lines are open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
Thank you.

I would be interested to know if this has been sorted for you Seamus? The exact same scenario has happened to me. I was approved for class 2 and I paid for 17 years on 5 March. Like you I noticed that the year 2023/24 now shows as paid but the other years are unpaid. I called to query this 6 weeks ago now and was told they would pass the message on to the appropriate team but there is still no change and I haven’t received any written confirmation of payment received. The website says to wait 8 weeks so I guess I’ll call again in 2 weeks, but just wondering if you’ve had any luck with this

Exactly the same story here. After reading the numerous stories of hanging allocations, I also called after making the payment and they took a note which years should be allocated. Still, only 2023/24 was allocated. I called them again and am now waiting for a case worker to fix it. It is bizarre that HMR ignores the shortfall letter sent out and its internal documentation when allocating payments.

In Dec 23 I was deemed eligable to pay class 2 voluntary contributions I subsequently paid by sterling cheque from abroad to cover 17 yrs of gaps.I contacted hmrc and they confirmed receipt of payment.when I checked my account I have been credit with only one year(23-24) even though I provided a cover letter explaining the years I wanted to fill 2006 to 2024 will this problem be resolved? or will I have to phone again?very difficult to get through and a long wait before anybody answers . I am aware how busy you are but my time is important to me too! All seems abit of a mess

A bit of good news My payments were finally allocated to the correct years and my pension forecast has been updated in line with this. It happened in the last week and may have been done during the maintenance shutdown at the weekend Happy Days! 😊 😊 😊 😊
