RE: Adjusted Net Income - Salary Sacrifice Schemes
Hi,
Salary sacrifice payments are taken from your salary before your gross wage is declared by your employer, to keep your salary sacrifice amount tax-free. As this reduces your gross wage, it therefore also reduces your adjusted net income. But this means you cannot deduct salary sacrifice payments from your gross wage when calculating ANI, as the deduction has already been applied.

Hi,- You can inform us of the contribution amount via your Personal Tax Account, or by contacting our Income Tax team
Income Tax: general enquiries - You can apply for Higher Rate tax relief on your pension contributions without needing to fill in a Self Assessment return - to do so, contact us using the methods described above.
- If you are not a Self Assessment customer, you should receive a Simple Assessment notification if an underpayment of tax is due. Likewise, any overpayment of tax will be refunded to you from your PAYE record, and not through SA.

RE: National Insurance Record - Payment for missing gap year not allocated and record is wrong
Hi,
For your first question, a caseworker would need to review your account to find out the reason on why the years were showing as qualifying and what changed to cause them to no longer qualify. This can only be done if you contact us. Please contact our National Insurance team in the first instance and the adviser will check your record and if necessary, refer the issue to a caseworker.
National Insurance: general enquiries
For your second question, I assume that you are overseas as only people overseas would include the name as part of the payment reference. The reduction in the reference to 15 digits due to having a short surname will not impact the payment reaching us and being applied to your account as payment references can be up to 18 characters long. As long as the National Insurance Number was included then we will have received this.
Currently it is taking over 52 weeks for payments to be allocated to accounts due to the unprecedented levels of contact and payments we have received, which is due to the upcoming payment deadline. I would not recommend waiting for this payment to show on your account but would advise to make any additional payments before the deadline date. The payments will not show on your account until after the deadline date, but if they were received before it, then they will still be allocated to your account.
Thank you.
