RE: Split year and tax return
Hi,
If you qualify for split year then you only report any foreign income for the UK part of the year.

RE: Capital Gains Tax Refund
Hi,
Our self assessment and capital gains services do not interact with one another. This means that manual intervention is required.
As our Self Assessment telephone lines are closed until 4 September 2023, you will need to webchat with a techncial officer. They will be able to arrange for repayment of the overpaid Capital Gains Tax to be sent to you.

RE: Moving abroad
Hi,
A P85 should be used to inform HMRC that you are leaving the United Kingdom.
Get your Income Tax right if you're leaving the UK
There is a self assessment criteria tool, which will help you work out if a tax return is required. If a tax return is not required, you will need to contact HMRC to advise them of this. This will prevent future tax returns being issued.
