Any interest that the gift generates once you receive it, is taxable and should be declared. The gift itself, is not taxable.

If your tax code was amended then any refund due will come back through your wages. If the tax year has finished then once HMRC receive your PAYE details we will review and if overpaid you will receive a calculation with detials of how to claim refund.

Hi,
The income will be part of the estate at present. Once it is finalised and transferred to you, you will declare this as foreign rental income in a tax return. As it is not a UK asset, it is not considered for Inheritance Tax in the UK but you may want to check the laws of the country it is in.
