RE: New VAT details not showing on website; it says, MTD sign-up is automatic... ?
Hi,
You can use your existing business tax account to enrol for MTD but firstly you will need to remove your old MTD enrolment from the account.
Login to your business tax accoun, select Manage Account at the top of the screen, then select Remove a tax duty or scheme and then follow the on screen instructions..
Once the old enrolment has been removed you can add your new enrolment with your new VAT number.
If you have any problems please contact our VAT team.

RE: VAT Refund not received , offset against corporation tax
Hi,
This would be standard procedure. If you are due a VAT refund and you owe money for another tax then the VAT repayment will be offset against these debts before we can make a repayment to you.
Please contact our VAT team so that we can investigate this and confirm that this has indeed happened.

RE: Capital gain tax liability moving SAYE proceeds to Flexible Shares ISA
Hi,
You need to transfer the shares to the ISA without them being transferred elsewhere. By putting them into another account first, you are not meeting the conditions for them to be exempt from capital gains. You can see guidance here:

RE: Does my spouse need to file tax returns for FY 2023-24?
Hi,
Yes, as you wife is in receipt of foreign capital gains, this is a requirement for completing a Self Assessment tax return. The gains would be shown on SA108 and if foreign capital gains tax is paid on the gain, this is declared on SA106 and a foreign tax credit of up to 100% of the foreign tax can be claimed, to avoid double taxation.

RE: Change of job for main income
Hi,
That is correct, once we receive confirmation that your previous primary occupation has ceased, your secondary employment should be updated to your primary, and your tax code should be allocated to that employment. If this does not automatically happen, though, please contact our Income Tax team and we can update your employments.
