RE: Can VAT registered Auction Houses use Postponed Accounting for Import VAT
Hi,
Postponed VAT accounting is available to importers of goods who are VAT registered. The VAT is declared in box 1 of the VAT return and box 4 as input tax if the importer is entitled to recover it. You can see guidance here:

RE: Self Assessment personal allowance 12570 but PAYE allowance 12579.
Hi,
On the tax code you would add a zero to the end. For the current 2023 to 2024 tax year the standard code is 1257L giving tax free allowances £12570. There can be a slight difference at the tax year end depending if wages are rounded up or down when the payroll is processed.

RE: Tax Refund on Payslip PAYE
Hi,
The repayment will be from your claim for relief on your pension contributions in your 2022/23 Self Assessment tax return. When claimed on the tax return it will be updated to include it in your tax code going forward 2023/24. The change in the 2023/24 code has then resulted in a refund for this tax year.
The pension relief can only be claimed if the pension contributions come from your net wage. If the pension contributions are deducted from your wage before the tax is calculated then relief already received. If you want to check the code you will need to contact our Self Assessment team.

RE: Self assessment tax bill
Hi,
The actual calculation itself does not take into account any payments made direct by you, this is then reflected on your statement. Please submit the return and allow it to update to then view the payment that is required.
Thank you.
