RE: PAYE Basic Tools overpaying Director tax and FPS confusion
Hi Helen Carrick,
Without being able to look into your account we would not be able to offer any solutions. It is possible that because of the way your account was set up the system has treated your annual payment as if it is due to your each month and calculated the tax accordingly. Please contact us on 0300 200 3200 to discuss this in more detail.

RE: PAYE REGISTRATION
Hi ltdqueries,
If employees are paid below the lower earnings limit, arent being providied with benefits in kind, do not have other paye employments/pensions and are not receiving taxable benefits such as state pensions then you would not need to register a PAYE scheme or submit Real Time Information.

RE: Tax on Gift from aboard staight to Stock/Shares ISA
Hi Sylvio HARDEL,
There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends. These would then potentially be subject to tax.
Further guidance can be found here (Tax on savings interest and Tax on dividends).

RE: Costs
Hi Christina28,
If the property is rented out you can claim expenses for general repairs and maintenance and set them against the rental income, in the tax year that they arise, as they are revenue expenses. They cannot be claimed against capital gains, if the property is disposed of. If this is your main residence, then there is no relief available.
Thank you. -
RE: Repayment Pending? It has been over 5 months
Hi B Kaps,
If the repayment has been selected for security and the timescale for the checks to be completed has passed then it would need to be a referral that is sent. I apologise for the delay in the checks being completed, but, the referral will allow the department dealing with the checks to review this for you.
Thank you. -
RE: When does a CGT payment appear on your Self Assessment payment schedule
Hi edward Verrall,
You can download and print a copy of SA108 at Self Assessment tax return forms. If you are using the online tax return, when tailoring your tax return, tick yes to the capital gains question at the bottom of page 1 of 3. When you move to the section to complete your return, there will be an option for capital gains.
