You can only claim costs in the year they are incurred and will therefore need to submit a claim in writing for the years you missed. You can only go back to 19/20 now. any claim must include reference to overpayment relief - Self Assessment Claims Manual-SACM12150 - Overpayment relief: Form of claims

You cannot file online with HMRC software and will need to buy 3rd party software. the whole return must be submitted together in the same format. Self Assessment commercial software suppliers

As this a fuel card for a private car you would report the details in the section Vouchers, credit cards and excess mileage allowance on your employment page. Yes you can claim your milege relief for using your own car for business mileage.

If your pensions plus state pension will be less than your personal allowance £12570 then we can update your tax codes to split the personal allowance to cover your pension income. To do this you can update your estimated pay for your pensions on your personal tax account online or contact HMRC to review/update your tax codes Income Tax: general enquiries.

Hi Saqib,
If your income was over £100K in the 2022/23 tax year then this will affect your personal allowance. The personal allowance was £12570 for 2022/23 but if your income was over £100K for every £2 above the threshold if reduces your personal allowance by £1. If your employer operated the 1257L code giving the full personal allowance this will explain why tax is due.

Re:1st registration for tax return
Hi Anne,
Once you have your UTR you can then enrol to file your Self Assessment online. When you register you are sent an activation code in the post to activate your Self Assessment online account. You will need to wait for the activation code before you can file the tax return online.
