Re:Confirmation of Paying via Tax Code
Hi deadpandave,
You can call HMRC, or contact us via webchat, to discuss any aspect of your PAYE and Self Assessment records, including whether your balancing payment is now included in either your current year or 24/25 tax code. Contact us via Self Assessment: general enquiries and we can confirm how you can pay your balancing payment.

Hi Ryan,
No this is not an allowable expense. Expenses have to be solely, necessairly and exclusively for the performance of your duties which the surgery is not.

Re:Returning from overseas
Hi CAPS
The use of commercial software is needed if you are required to complete the residence section of the tax return. as you are returning part way through the year you would probably need to complete the residence section to confirm this so you would need 3rd party software.
Thank you. -

Re:Grants on invoice
Hi Steve,
If you are installing grant funded energy saving materials to a residential premises then it is important to keep the evidence of the grant in your records.
When providing the invoice there would be no speciific requirements about how you would detail the grant and so I would recommend just making it clear somewhere on the invoice that the supply is grant funded and the value of the grant.
Thank you. -
RE:Italy/UK taxation
Hi Giulia Neri
There would only be a tax implication if you were to purchase another property. You would need to determine which one was your main residence in the event of selling for capital gains purposes.
Thank you. -
